As I continue to watch Gundam Wing and observe the human surrondings around me, I wonder. Why is Relena willing to stop the war because she believes war is not the way to acheive total pacifism? Is peace really the victor we want to achieve through war? I think it's foolish to fight for peace. She thinks we are fighting for peace. But that's not true. Through out the series the reasons for war were scattered through out the outline. In war, we are fighting for power, superiority, rights, to make a point, to prove something or to protect a value. For example, Milliardo Peacecraft of White Fang, fights to prove a point, that Earth is the main cause of War. Trieze Khusrenada, leader of Oz, fights for power and superiority from the colonies and earth. The five Gundam Pilots, fights for the protection for the colonies, then later, earth. The crew + Howard of Peacemillion, fights for earth's protection. Some people are just proud of fighting for whatever they value or just the thrill of fighting. I ask you, Relena, why not fight? Fighting satisfy one's goal. We, the whole universe has been preparing ourselves, since the break of dawn for war, for a fight. Why should we be told to throw it all out now? We've worked so hard. Relena has no right to make us throw out our hard work for foolish reasons that could get us killed. It's like throwing out a good grade when someone has only 1 point ahead of you when you knew you could do better in the future. As quoted by many soldiers: 'We fight to the finish!' And we will. The only way war can be stopped is by one side surrending or a victor declared. Fighting is part of everyday life. Like simple debates, bullies, and sports. Relena thinks that living and ruling a total pacifist life/country will promise and show others to lead them into following. I think she's wrong. It's a definite death trap. You might think conditions are contaigous, but not peace. How do you kno, Relena, that everyone wants peace? If everyone was a Relena Peacecraft, the universe would be covered with foolishness and stupidity (and not to mention uglyness and bad fashion). No war is pointless. No war starts without a point. Relena thinks all wars are meaningless and pointless. Even if the war started as a prank or meaningless , the reasons for war would increase. War has the reasons for being here, for existing. In war, we fight for something, we're not forced to do it, we do it for something. How can you now, Relena, call all wars meaningless? As we fight every battle, more security and trust is gained for a side. War can not be stopped. Period. As long as humanity exists, war will too. Still, you could not promise influence to become a pacifist to others in your ignorant ways, Relena. It's like asking a blind guy to drive. Innocent bystanders die, but it's their fault. It was because they took no action in their own self protection during the fights. It is foolish people like Relena Peacecraft that 'risk their life' for nothing. Her foolish ways in doing nothing in her position in war will get herself killed and many others too. Why do you Relena say that wars are stupid? Are you mocking the ways of the world's past and present civilization? How can you give the word War the low adjectives foolish, meaningless,etc? War is a permanent word in the dictionary and in life. It's engraved in our lives and will never disappear until we rest dead. War. |
